Established by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in 1991, the HKTDC Design Gallery's mission is to promote the creativity, innovation and excellence of Hong Kong products.

Not only does Design Gallery offer a retail platform for Hong Kong designers and manufacturers to establish brand awareness, it also helps trade buyers get to know more about Hong Kong designs and brands. In all its activities, Design Gallery works to promote Hong Kong as a regional creative capital.

Located in the prime locations of Hong Kong, Design Gallery showcases the newest products of Hong Kong designers and brand manufacturers to both local and overseas trade buyers, travelers and shoppers. Our products are wide ranging and include consumer electronics, consumer appliances, gifts and premium, housewares, watches, desktop stationery, jewellery and fashion accessories.

Not only is Design Gallery an exceptional retail venue to test new innovations, it is also a perfect launching pad to build brand awareness among an international clientele. In addition to consigning their collections at Design Gallery, Hong Kong companies can also choose to display their original creations at our window showcase or through our TV broadcast program.

Design Gallery provides a comprehensive Trade Enquiry Service which helps interested buyers connect with our product suppliers. Taking pride in our role as a successful matchmaker, we generate close to 1,000 enquiries each year. Each of these helps to bring business opportunities to both Hong Kong companies and overseas buyers.

To help suppliers tap into the Mainland China market, Design Gallery opened its first Mainland China outlet in Beijing in 2009. Shortly after, we expanded the network to other major cities including Guangzhou and Shanghai. In 2010, Design Gallery also started online business in the partnership with Mainland China’s renowned platforms. As of today, Design Gallery runs business on various online platforms, including Tmall.com, JD.com and Taobao.com.

In addition to the physical shops, Design Gallery has been working towards expanding its sales network in both Hong Kong and in Mainland China by adopting a “Shop-In-Shop” or consignment concept. This approach has brought Hong Kong branded products to new points of sale that promise heavy traffic and more diversified customers.

Thematic Promotions

Tasked with the mission to promote Hong Kong’s creativity, innovation and excellence in product design and quality, Design Gallery organizes thematic campaigns at our Wan Chai CEC shop throughout the year to highlight Hong Kong designs and brands from various product categories.

Design Gallery will invite different Hong Kong artists, designers, brands or institutions to stage year – round thematic promotions based on the following selection criteria:

  • The exhibits can showcase the creativity, design excellence and innovation of Hong Kong design and / or products
  • The promotional partner must be a Hong Kong institution/supplier and the exhibits to be showcased must be created by a Hong Kong designer/artist
  • The promotion theme would tie in with concurrent festive seasons or the events/fairs/exhibitions held at the HKCEC

With the concerted effort from our partners, together we can reinforce DG’s positioning as an effective platform to promote Hong Kong as a creative capital.
